Various UC Berkeley labs and makerspaces will be open to ISAM attendees for tours and open houses over all three days of ISAM 2025. Plan out your desired schedule and register via updating your ISAM “social events” in ExOrdo.


Jacobs Hall Makerspace
Address: 2530 Ridge Rd, Berkeley, CA 94709
Description: UC Berkeley’s largest makerspace—an all-access, multi-level facility run by the Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation, where Maker Pass holders can prototype with 3D printers, laser cutters, wood and metal tools, electronics, and more in a fully staffed, interdisciplinary environment.

College of Environmental Design Shop
Address: 277 Bauer Wurster Hall
Description: The College of Environmental Design’s maker spaces—including the Fabrication Shop, Digital Fabrication Lab, and Materials Store—provide architecture and design students with hands-on access to professional-grade wood and metal tools, 3D printers, CNC machines, and expert support to bring their studio projects and material explorations to life.

Mechanical Engineering Student Machine Shop

UCB Library Makerspace

Description: The UC Berkeley Library Makerspace is a collaborative space designed for undergraduates to explore hands-on creativity with free access to tools like 3D printers, vinyl cutters, fiber arts supplies, and basic power tools, plus workshops like felting, sticker making, stamp carving, and more.

Berkeley Art Studio

Berkeley Art Studio West (Helen Diller Anchor House)

Description: A new extension of the existing Art Studio, this is a creative space on the 2nd level of the Helen Diller Anchor House where UC Berkeley students, faculty, alumni, and community members can take printmaking, textile, crafting, drawing, and painting classes.
